I have been associated with Bright Future for about a year and a half now. I have continued to work with Bright Future because of the work that they are doing which is helping the children in a positive way. Always after work, whenever I have free time, I come to Bright Future to help them with training in drama, conducting guest lectures. Spending my time with these children has become a hobby for me. The questions raised by children also helps me to put on my thinking cap and find solutions for it which helps me also to learn more.
After interacting with the students here, I realized that we are lucky and blessed to have all the facilities in our life to grow but these students don't have all of these privileges. There is no one to guide them in their education or career. Bright Future is a great platform where they get trained for jobs and I met many of them whose life has transformed in this process.
The students here come from a poor financial background and they do not have complete guidance for education and career. They have the potential but due to lack of proper guidance and resources, they fail to achieve their goals. I felt really happy to share my knowledge with them and I am glad that I could help them in some way to do better in their lives.
I volunteered as a mentor for 9th and 10th Std. students from Maratha High School in Worli. It was an enriching experience for me to know about the students and their eco-system. I also saw a good impact on the students after one year of mentoring. Overall, it was a great experience for me in terms of reaching out to the needy and learning from the experience.
